House Concerts

I'm looking for friendly, music loving people in the Bucks County/PA and New Jersey area to host house concerts.

I have openings in my upcoming schedule and would love to play a few dates in the area.

If you're interesting in hosting a house concert, please contact me at:

Details and FAQ's

WHAT:
Acoustic music house concerts.

WHEN:
Let's talk! Selected dates are available, both week day and week-end. House concerts make for a great mid-week party event.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Original acoustic music with a touch of humor.

HOW BIG?
It doesn't take much! Ten people or more will do. I can do a Ten/Ten -- ten songs for ten people or more or any number above that.

WHAT DOES IT COST?
Guests are asked to make a donation. No minimum.

WHAT DOES THE HOST DO?
Most importantly, you provide a friendly place to do an acoustic concert. You'll need seating for every guest (folding chairs count!) and whatever refreshments you'd like to provide. Invite your friends and family -- these are invitational type concerts so don't expect strangers to show up. Generally, we find that half as many people as you invite will attend, so invite at least 20. But, hey, if you know me already and you live nearby, I'd be happy to do a concert for whatever number you come up with.

WHAT DO I DO?
I show up at least an hour early, greet your guests, spend time with them as any friendly guest would, and then play a set of songs. Usually, that's 45 minutes of music but it can be up to an hour.

I bring my guitar and sometimes some light percussion instruments. No amplification is needed.

After my set of songs I will stick around and socialize if you like. I really enjoy hanging out with the people at the concert and sharing stories.

I'm re-organizing my soundcloud recordings as a place for my instrumental music. As a result, I will soon be "retiring" the album "etcetera." It's from a different time in my life, anyway and I'm ready to let it go from that platform. If you'd like to download a copy, you can here:   https://soundcloud.com/douglas-b-smith/sets/etcetera (for a limited time!)   Most of the songs from that album will remain available here  at reverbnation.   Break-up albums can get deep, and this one was an attempt. It was also an attempt to woo the next romantic adventure and failed deeply indeed at that (well, it wasn't necessarily the songs that caused the failure, but they certainly did reflect that failure.) Hopefully, everyone else involved in all that drama is now happy and living their best life. (I can still hear my therapist saying "don't be preposterous..." Ha.) I'll be converting my soundcloud space to the kind of music you'd hear
