cheese and crackers

i'm too old to keep this a secret
and past pretending to be cool
because i want to kiss you like
our hair's on fire
and touch you like we're both
unbreakable

and eat cheese and crackers
washed down with wine
as we laugh about
crums in the sheets

and furry pets with
curious faces

you don't need to love me forever
but,
you'd better love me fast.
